Trailblazer & Nature Force Groups

Donate

The Trailblazer and Nature Force groups in Harrogate and Wakefield undertake valuable conservation and footpath repair work in North and West Yorkshire. Tasks include tree planting, scrub clearance, allotment work, meadow management, invasive weed control, litter picks and much more!

We work with organisations such as the National Trust, North Yorkshire Council, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Yorkshire Water and Wakefield Council.

The jobs can be dirty and hard work but are suitable for most capabilities. Tools, training, transport and volunteer support are provided.

Join us if you want to make a positive difference to wildlife and your local environment!

I’ve been coming out with Open Country for over 9 years and I love being part of a team that helps nature to flourish. I get to visit different places around the district and I love the variety of jobs we get to do. My favourites are tree planting, raking long grass and cutting back. It is really satisfying to get to the end of the day and see the difference we have made.
